New Project
I did plan to continue this project on after Christmas, but then decided to change my theme.
My new project is about my one and a half year old niece, Chloe, who suffers from Diamond Blackfan Anaemia. DBA is a rare but life threatening condition that means she has to undergo blood transfusions regularly (every 2-4 weeks) to keep her alive. When she is strong enough, she will then have to have chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. Currently at home in Sunderland, the local newspaper runs a campaign for Chloe (Sunderland Echo, Chloe’s Call-Up Campaign) encouraging people to donate blood, and sign up to the Anthony Nolan Trust. For my project, I will use Chloe and her illness to help raise awareness of the disease and its effects, as well as the need for more people to donate blood outside of my home town.
